PROCTOR TAKES FIRST WIN AT DONINGTON AS DAVIDSON MARCHES ON
Stewart Proctor converted Group GTA pole position into a first win of the season for Garage 59 in the opening GT Cup race from Donington Park’s GP circuit.
After laying down the marker in qualifying, Proctor made the perfect start in the opening 25-minute race of the weekend in Northamptonshire to set him well on his way to a maiden triumph of the season.
488 NOT A CHALLENGE FOR FF CORSE TO END GT CUP SEASON
FF Corse will provide a stern challenge for GT Cup rivals to end the 2017 season, as the Silverstone-based outfit plans to field its brand-new Ferrari 488 Challenge cars at Donington Park this weekend.
The team took ownership of one of the cars earlier this year, but this will be the first outing for a 488 Challenge in a UK-based series in 2017.

Adding to his pole position at Silverstone earlier in July, Rattenbury came out on top in a closely-fought battle for the top spot thanks to a time of 1m38.701s around the technical Cheshire circuit.
CHAMPION WITT RETURNS FOR OULTON PARK
2016 Overall and GTO champion Jordan Witt will return to the GT Cup to take on the class of 2017 at his home circuit, Oulton Park.
Jordan will race the Bentley Continental GT3 car he successfully piloted to the 2016 crown, winning 17 races on the way.

AF Corse is the Ferrari factory team who base their European operations out of Piacenza in Italy. The team will however run the Ferrari 458 GT3 from its satellite premises based in Milton Keynes.

Rob Gaffney’s championship almost stalled before it even got started when a problem with the differential at Donington Park for the opening rounds meant the team packed up early and could not participate in the Sunday sprint races. This allowed nearest rivals Mick Mercer and Gary Smith to amass a 62-point lead over Rob.

2016 SEMI-EXCLUSIVE TEST AT CARTEGENA IN SOUTHERN SPAIN
After last year’s success, GT Cup organisers Bute Motorsport will once again be hosting a semi-exclusive test at the Spanish circuit of Cartagena from the 11th to the 13th March 2016.
The test has been moved from its previous January date to take advantage of the warmer weather and to allow more people to participate.

2014 GTB champion David Walley will return to the GT Cup for a one-off appearance at Donington Park next weekend.
The Stratford-upon-Avon based driver will return with In2Racing but will be stepping up into the GTC group in a 991 GT3 Cup car. David will continue to be backed by recruitment experts Alexander Daniels, whose logos prominently featured on the car during his successful 2014 campaign.
BAILEY WINS BUT GREENWAY AND HOGGARTH FINISH IN CLOSE ORDER
Paul Bailey has won round sixteen of the GT Cup around the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit.
It was Richard Chamberlain who led the field off the line from a rolling start through Paddock Hill bend, although there was some confusion caused by the slow starting Lotus Evora, as the pack enveloped the black and gold car into the famous first turn.

The GT Cup will makes its second appearance of the 2015 season on the famous Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit this weekend.
The track has become a regular fixture on the GT Cup calendar but this is the first time it has made two appearances in the same year.

Jordan Witt piloted his Redline Racing run Porsche 991 to a convincing overall victory in the first sprint race of the day.
The Cheshire based youngster qualified in fifth place but got a great start to find himself in second at the end of lap one.

Darren Nelson and Adam Caroll have won the opening race of the GT Cup weekend at Norfolk’s Snetterton circuit.
Following a stunted qualifying session the race was set to be an interesting one with a mandatory pit stop and driver swap of varying durations to even out the runners and riders.
BATTLE RESUMES AS GT CUP HEADS TO SNETTERTON
After the mid-season break the GT Cup returns to the Norfolk–based Snetterton circuit. The championship has had a stellar start to the season with some fantastic battles raging throughout the field.
GREENWAY SHOWS GOOD PACE AS GEDDIE TAKES THE DOUBLE
Jim Geddie won the second GT Cup race of the weekend at Silverstone by 22 seconds from second-placed man, Phil Burgan.
Jim led from the start and stretched his lead over the rest of the pack, as they battled behind him. Burgan started second, but dropped down to fourth at the start, behind Paul Bailey and Darren Nelson.
GEDDIES TAKE COMMANDING RETURN WIN AS HOGGARTH AND SAUNDERS STAR
Jim and Glynn Geddie have won the first GT Cup race at Silverstone.
Jim Geddie took the start and led from the green flag and stretched out a six second lead after only the first lap. He handed over to Glynn Geddie during the pit stop with Glynn maintaining the lead and taking the chequered flag by nearly 32 seconds, when the race was red flagged with three minutes left to run due to a beached car.
McLAREN DOUBLE ENTRY FOR SILVERSTONE GP WEEKEND
The GT Cup grid this weekend at Silverstone (13-14 June) will be boosted by the addition of two McLaren GT3 cars.
Last year’s champion, Jim Geddie, will be returning to the championship for a one-off round in his McLaren MP4-12C GT3, run by ABG Motorsport.
TRIPLE DELIGHT FOR NELSON AS STANLEY, WEBB AND GAFFNEY SHARE GLORY
Darren Nelson has made it three out of three at Rockingham as he won the third and final race of the weekend from pole position.
Setting the fastest lap in race two meant Nelson started on the front row in his Ferrari 458, alongside the Audi R8 LMS ultra of Phil Burgan. Paul Bailey started third in the Aston Martin Vantage, with David Fairbrother in fourth - in GTB pole position.
NELSON PIPS BURGAN IN CLOSE POLE BATTLE
Darren Nelson will start round eight on pole after setting the fastest time round the Rockingham track on Sunday morning.
The second qualifying session started off dry but the weather soon changed and the rain came down. Although the rain didn't last long, it was enough to make the track wet and slippery and most of the cars spent a long time in the pit lane.
BAILEY SNEAKS POLE AS GREENWAY AND DOWNING SHINE
Paul Bailey and Andy Schulz have grabbed pole position in their TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage for the first GT Cup race at Rockingham Motor Speedway.
The pair will line up next to Darren Nelson, in his FF Corse Ferrari 458 GT3, who is joined by Adam Carroll this weekend.
SCOTT WINS AS DOWNING TAKES DEBUT GTC WIN
Aaron Scott has won the third and final race at Brands Hatch in the JMH Automotive-prepared Ferrari 458 GT3.
The FF Corse Ferrari 458 Challenge car of Darren Nelson started on pole, from double race winner, Paul Bailey in second and Phil Burgan’s Audi R8 LMS ultra in third.
BAILEY DOMINATES AS MARRS STARS
Paul Bailey sets the pace in the second qualifying session at Brands Hatch (Sunday 10th May) in his TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage.
The early pace was set by the Porsche 935 of Richard Chamberlain, until Bailey knocked him off the top of the timing sheets and stayed there for most of the 30-minute session.
BURGAN UNITED WITH POLE POSITION
The first qualifying session of the Brands Hatch weekend was declared a wet session with slight rain falling on some parts of the track.
Richard Chamberlain set the early pace in his Porsche 935 with Marcus Hoggarth second, and leading the GTC group. Donington Park double winner, Paul Bailey was in third in his TF Sport-run Aston Martin.

The second qualifying session of the 2015 season started very differently to yesterday’s, with the sun shining over Donington Park.
WILLIAMS CLAIMS POLE AS SEALE AND HAIGH STAR
The first qualifying session of the 2015 GT Cup championship was a wet event, with the JMH Automotive Ferrari 458 of Arwyn Williams and Arron Scott grabbing pole position in the dying moments of the session.
The rain started to fall 10 minutes before the session began and got heavier as the 33 cars went out on track. Teams immediately darted into the pit lane to change to wet tyres before heading out to set their times.
IN2RACING RETURN TO GT CUP WITH WILDCARD TIM HARVEY
The In2Racing team have confirmed they will be returning to the GT Cup this year, with special guest driver, Tim Harvey.
Last year, In2Racing were responsible for leading David Walley to the GTB group championship, with his team mates, Will Plant and Oliver Bryant a close second. For 2015, they will be entering on a round by round basis with two Porsche 991 Cup cars.
FAIRBROTHER SIGNS UP FOR 2015 SEASON
David Fairbrother has announced he will be entering the 2015 GT Cup with James Greenway.
This year will be David's debut season in the GT Cup, racing alongside former VW Cup driver James in a Porsche 997 Cup car. David is no stranger to racing, having competed in the VW Cup against James for the past three years.

CHAMBERLAIN SNATCHES VICTORY AS NELSON FAULTERS
The 2016 GT Cup Championship got off to an exciting start at Donington Park with a closely fought win for the orange Porsche 935 of Richard Chamberlain. Gareth Downing’s Lotus Evora GTE took second PLACE while Jordan Witt recovered from a pitlane start to claim the final podium spot in his Bentley Continental GT3.

Paul Bailey and Andy Schulz will return to the GT Cup this season to challenge for the GTC title in their Ferrari 458 Challenge car. The duo won the 2015 GTO title in dramatic fashion, taking the honours by two points at the last round held at Oulton Park.
ADAM WILCOX AND NIGEL HUDSON RETURN IN AWESOME AUDI
Sportsman driver Nigel Hudson and driver coach Adam Wilcox will return to the GT Cup for a full season campaign in their Audi R8 LMS Ultra. The car will once again be run by Cheshire-based team JMH Automotive as part of the a three car stable.
GT CUP SEASON START WITH MEDIA DAY AT BRANDS HATCH
The GT Cup season officially started with the championship’s Media Day taking place at the Brands Hatch circuit in Kent on Tuesday 16th February. The event was attended by a large contingent of the print and online motorsport media, allowing them to hear how the 2016 season is shaping up.

Richard Chamberlain made it a brace of victories at the Outlon Park finale, after once again dispatching Darren Nelson for the win.
Chamberlain’s Porsche 935 was able to leap ahead of Nelson’s Ferrari 458 GT3 at the start and this time . . .
NELSON MAKES A LAST GASP EFFORT TO CLINCH OULTON PARK POLE POSITION
Darren Nelson secured pole for the first race of the Oulton Park finale in the session’s final moments, edging out Richard Chamberlain in a four minute sprint for pole after an earlier red flag.
Oil split in an earlier session made qualifying all the more exciting as drivers were forced to take different racing lines early on but, after Will Plant caused a red flag, Nelson took advantage to grab pole at the end.

Darren Nelson made it a double celebration at Donington Park after taking victory in the second sprint race.
There were two notable absences from the grid in the form of the Aston Martin of Paul Bailey, whose car needed a new clutch after retiring from the earlier race.

Preparation specialists JMH Automotive will expand to a three-car entry for this weekend’s races at Donington Park.

The orange Porsche started seventeenth after retiring from Saturday’s sprint race with front-end damage and surged through the field. He made up six places on the first lap and continued making progress the following lap.

Jordan Witt took another convincing GT Cup victory in the final sprint race of the championship’s visit to the Snetterton circuit.
Jordan steered his Porsche 991 to the win by eight seconds from Richard Chamberlain after starting on the front row besides Darren Nelson.

Phil Burgan has taken pole position following a storming qualifying session for round fourteen. Phil set a time to go just 0.042 of a second faster than second placed Darren Nelson but it was enough to seal pole before the session was brought to an early end.

Aaron Scott has won the third race of the GT Cup weekend at Silverstone.
The JMH Automotive racer started at the back of the grid and was up to 10th by the end of the first lap. He made up a further five places on lap two, and by lap three was up to third.
LAST GASP POLE FOR MARRS AS GEDDIE SETS CONVINCING OVERALL PACE
Jim Geddie grabbed pole position in the second qualifying session of the weekend at Silverstone.
Jim was swapping times with Paul Bailey, Phil Burgan and Darren Nelson throughout the session, but finished on top for the second time this weekend. Phil Burgan’s United Autosports Audi R8 LMS ultra lines up alongside him in second, with Paul Bailey in third.
GEDDIE CAPS GT CUP RETURN WITH POLE POSITION AT WET SILVERSTONE
Jim Geddie has taken pole position at Silverstone in his McLaren MP4-12C GT3.
The reigning champion took the top spot with one minute of the wet session left to run, after stopping out on track in the early stages of qualifying.

Darren Nelson has taken his second win of the weekend after a dramatic end to the 25-minute race.
Nelson started the race from pole position and held off the threat from Paul Bailey’s Aston Martin Vantage, who started in fourth, for the majority of the race.

NELSON AND CARROLL TAKE ROCKINGHAM SILVERWARE
Darren Nelson and Adam Carroll won the first race of the Rockingham weekend in their FF Corse Ferrari 458 GT3.
Nelson started the race from second on the grid, with Paul Bailey on pole and the GTB Porsche 997 GT3 of James Greenway and David Fairbrother in third. Kevin Riley started on GTC pole position in the Lotus Evora GTE, Rob Gaffney putting his Ginetta G50 on pole for the GTA group.
GT CUP GETS READY TO ROCK
Rounds seven, eight and nine of the GT Cup will be held at Rockingham Motor Speedway this weekend (23-24 May), as the championship heads there for the first time in its seven-year history.
The GT Cup goes into its third event of 2015 after another great weekend of racing at Brands Hatch two weeks ago.

MARTIN JOHNSTON RETURNS WITH TF SPORT
TF Sport have confirmed they will run a third car in the 2015 GT Cup championship.
The team have signed Martin Johnston to race in their GT4 race-winning Aston Martin V8 Vantage.
Martin made his debut in the GT Cup in 2014 behind the wheel of an Aquila prototype after a break from racing for four years, having previously raced in Lotus and Clio championships.
